]]Kanawat – kanatha – one of the ten important old cities
It is 7 km east of sweida .It was an important city specially in the Roman days who made it one of the ten cities (Decabolice). It was a coalition between ten commercial cities including Damascus . Its scattering ruins explain its significance that days .
Kanatha is on the highest peak and a valley rich with trees farms and heaths in the Arab mountain.

The God of the Sun :
It was built in the second century, the Romans called it (Hellopolis).it had 31 columns , some of it still in the middle of the village court .
Zeus Temple: God of Heavens
It is in the south of the village . it has got six columns with beautiful crowns in the middle of fruitfull trees .
The God of Water Temple: It is near kanawat theater .
Kanawat Church :It was built in the fourth century.
All these monuments reflect the glory of the Roman civilization in that period
